FOUNTAIN VS BROSCH FOR CANADIAN TITLE
June 27, 2010 - In less than two weeks, on July 10 in Mississauga, Hamilton's own Justin "the Matrix" Fountain will be battling Mississauga's Tebor Brosch for the CPBC Welterweight title. Matrix and Brosch have met before, battling to a 6 round draw in 2008. Both fighters are sure to come ready, but Justin Fountain is determined to put the win beside his name and bring home the Canadian Welterweight title.
On the amateur side of things, the bout action for our boxers has been a little quiet since the Golden Gloves, with everyone training hard but not having much luck in finding available opponents. A couple of boxers have travelled for bouts and been successful, and with summer around the corner we are sure to see the action pick up.
At the 2010 Golden Gloves, held this year in London and hosted by Boomerz Boxing Club, Hamilton Boxing Club once again captured the Best Overall Team title with a dominant undefeated performance. All competing boxers won their respective divisions, and Namah Daghir even walked away with Best Male Novice Boxer of the tournament.
Winners for the Golden Gloves were:
Muhammed Ali - Male Cadet C Novice Featherweight
Amanda Beaudin - Female Senior Open Featherweight
Namah Daghir - Male Cadet C Open Featherweight
Kylie Fallis - Female Senior Novice Lightweight
Patti Griffin - Female Senior Novice Lightweight
Blair Huffman - Male Senior Novice Heavyweight
Brett Huffman - Male Junior Open Welterweight
Natasha Sokolowski - Female Senior Novice Welterweight
